When I needed a small loan to help with my down payment to buy a home in the Parkside neighborhood, I decided to go to BCFCU instead of going to a large, corporate bank. They helped me get a loan quickly, and on good terms. I have been a member of the Buffalo Cooperative FCU for over 20 years. When I first started my business, New Buffalo Graphics, I needed a small loan just to buy enough t-shirts and printing ink to get things off the ground. The people at the BC3 (as it was then known) took a personal interest in helping me to begin. It was a completely different experience than going to a bank.

The personal aspect of it was the difference that I needed to feel encouraged. Over the years, as my business has changed and developed in different ways, I have continued to do my banking with the Coop Credit Union for the same reasons that I first became a member. Being stuck with such high interest rates and paying huge monthly payments to faceless credit card corporations was very draining. I'm very grateful to have some freedom from that.
