Established in 1979 as a non-profit cooperative financial institution, the Buffalo Cooperative Federal Credit Union is federally incorporated and is owned and operated for the benefit of our members.
The BCFCU is a Community Development Financial Institution located in the heart of the Elmwood Village. The BCFCU provides a place where members can manage their finances in a fair, balanced, and supportive environment. We are a low income designated credit union that focus on helping those how are underserved and in need of help the most.
“This is the only financial institution worth banking with in WNY. They treat you like a person and not a number like corporate banks. The staff and managers are all incredibly personable and they really work for the members. Skip the mega banks and go with these guys!”
“Co-op credit union is a nice and welcome alternative to the generic banks. Keeps money in the community rather than places throughout the world where big banks' funds tend to settle. Staff people are friendly and helpful. What are you waiting for? Take your money out of a corporate bank and conduct your financial transactions here. 'Nuff said.”
Our members know our staff well and are treated with respect.

Our members are our first priority and our boss. The members elect the Board of Directors and are the only shareholders we answer too.
